Appropriation Ordinance & Tax Levy
Each year the Village of Waynesville adopts an Appropriation Ordinance and a Tax Levy for the current Fiscal Year. The Fiscal Year begins on May 1st of the current year and ends on April 30th of the following year. The Budget that is adopted is a guideline for the current Fiscal Year spending, while the Appropriation Ordinance is the actual limit that can be spent by law. The Budget is adopted at the June meeting, the Appropriation Ordinance is adopted at the July meeting and the Tax Levy is adopted at the December meeting each year. The Tax Levy determines the taxes the DeWitt County Clerk pays to the Village.
